FINE...guaranteed vintage ...victorian aesthetic,japanesque style pierced ...original ebonized finish ...with gilt incised carving. This chair measures 37" H X 22" W. The back section is 21" H X 20" W ...the seat is 18" D X 18" W at back and 22" W at the front. Seat is 19" to the floor. Chair is in estate as-found condition....structurally sound and tight with no signs of breaks, cracks or repairs. Retains the original springs....horse hair stuffing in the back rest.T is some minimal wear on the edges of the finish...noteably on the legs. Finish is 95%+ intact and as stated ORIGINAL. Please note detail pics ...under the seat (front) ...the outer edges of the pierced panel show moulding loss on the ends of this panel....and w the legs meet the stretcher in front t may have been some sort of small corner moulding .A beautiful chair in need of appropriate upholstery. This chair shows some elements of design in the manner of Hertz...Herter Bros...or...Kimbel & Cabus...but this piece is unsigned.The carving is crisp and well executed,and the design is well balanced. This chair will make a fine addition to that special aesthetic room or setting. The AESTHETIC high-style victorian of the rich....sold without RESERVE!!!!!!!
