NR Nice 2 1/2" GREAT WHITE Shark Tooth Fossil Northeastern NC Teeth Hello...glad to see you and thanks for dropping in to visit. More eye candy for you shark tooth lovers! This is a nice tooth that belongs to one of our friends. It is a Northeastern North Carolina land fossil find. Tooth has a pointy tip and beautiful serrations. I like the contrast in the colors. Enamel has a shine and is a pretty light reddish brown to orange with tan highlights. Please note the place w the enamel is missing just below the root, see pictures below. Beautiful tooth to add to your collection. I bet you can hardly wait to see if you are the lucky winning bidder! Geography… Teeth I am listing come from Northeastern North Carolina and Southeastern Virginia. Our children’s memories will be of our adventures and family vacations camping down by the river. Our river has been a good teacher arousing our curiosity about the many secrets and mysteries from the past it holds for us. Being curious is a good thing for the young and old; it causes us to seek answers to the questions in our mind opening up opportunities for us to learn. We look forward to passing on our traditions. Please treat our rivers kindly so they will be t for the enjoyment of generations to come. Cleaning… My husband cleans our teeth as much as he can using hot soap and water. Some may need additional cleaning when you receive them; we leave that in your capable hands. Our Teeth… My husband, children and our friends enjoy fossil hunting; we would like to share some of their finds with you. I leave the fossil collecting to them…just give me a fishing pole! I think the teeth they have found are beautiful and many have unusual colors with layers of more subtle coloring behind the most prevalent hues. The beautiful colors of the teeth they have found range from orange to red or brown, tan to green and gray to black. We understand why collectors look for them. They are hard to find and rare to see offered for sale, most teeth finding a home in private collections. We're not experts. We can only provide you with information we have read in books or studied on the Internet trying to identify our teeth. We're always happy to hear your input...it helps us to learn more. Many pictures are provided for you to study; allow them to spur your imagination of how things used to be way back when...we do hope that you enjoy seeing our teeth as much as we have enjoyed sharing them with you. Photography… Feel free to save our pictures for your personal viewing later or perhaps a school project for which you may need photographs. It would make us happy to know that our pictures are being shared with others. Shark teeth are hard for me to photograph as many are chameleons, their colors seem to change depending on the angle of the light. I have gone back to retake pictures only to realize that those are the colors in the tooth when viewed from that angle. When you take pictures to show detail, it is necessary to turn the tooth in the lighting to show their serration, tip and root...this also helps me to see many details I may not have noticed otherwise and allows me to share those details with you. What you are seeing is what the camera saw when the picture was snapped. When a tooth will lay close enough to the scanner glass to scan, I try to include those pictures also to give you as much detail as possible. Pictures should have finished loading - are you ready to see them? Please press the "F5" or refresh button if pictures do not show up or if you see a blank white space that is w a picture should be. Okay, it's time for the show...pictures should be showing below! Don't forget to refresh if you can't see them... Below is an illustration of how we measure our teeth.L1 - Longest side of the tooth L2 - Opposite side of the toothWidth - Widest point of the tooth Length Tip to ...
