You're bidding on my neat old sugar devil which is in really good condition with no damage that I have seen. These are sometimes called a sugar auger or a fruit devil and it's my understanding that they were used to loosen sugar and dried fruit when they hardened in the barrel. The wooden handle is in good condition also and the cast iron apparently originally had silver paint on it and t are very faint traces of that. It's about 16 1/2" long and it's hard to read but it says "patent applied for". If you've been looking for one of these don't miss out because these are getting very hard to find. I've tried to show the condition in my photos, but feel free to email me with questions that you have. Successful buyer pays shipping costs and insurance and we will gladly combine shipping costs for multiple purchases. If you win more than one auction do not pay until I've had a chance to send you a combined invoice so that we can refigure the shipping costs. Unfortunately we have no control over the high cost of shipping. We generally ship via Priority Mail because we've found it to be safer and generally we can use their boxes which saves costs. Heavier items can be shipped via Parcel Post or UPS whichever is cheaper and books will be shipped Media Mail. We weigh the items as we list them and the shipping cost is calculated with eBay's shipping calculator. We generally add a $1.00 shipping fee to cover the cost of shipping supplies. If you feel that is unfair please do not bid. We do our best to accurately describe and picture all of our items but of course we are not perfect and can make errors. We allow returns within 5 days only if we have mistakenly inaccurately described an item. Buyer pays return shipping fees and the item must be returned in the same condition as when we sent it. Please ask any questions that you may have before you bid, as we want you to be happy with your purchase. Thanks for checking us out and have fun bidding! It's our policy not to reveal reserves or end auctions early so please do not ask. Payment must be received within 7 days of auction end. We prefer PayPal but will also accept checks and money orders. International buyers must pay via PayPal and it is our policy not to falsify the customs forms so do not ask.
