NICE TURKISH 900 SILVER ENGRAVED FLOWER BOX 1850-1870

Presented is a fine antique Turkish silver box. The edges of the rectangular box are decorated with a nice design of flowers and leaves on a stippled background. The box was made between 1850 and 1870.

Both the cover and the base of the box have the Turkish tourgha mark in the center and the mark for 900 purity silver used between 1844 and 1923. Based upon our experience with Turkish silver, we feel that this piece was made in the mid-1800s.

The box is in great condition. T are a few small dings on the top of the box, but these are quite minor. The hinge is strong, and the lid closes very tightly. T is a scratch mark on the side of the box from w the assay master tested the silver purity, but this is not damage. T are no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.

The box measures 4 inches by 2 1/2 inches by 3/4 inch.

The weight is 105.3 grams or 3.7 ounces.
