Nice Vintage Double Dial Calendar Shelf Clock Moon Dial- Very Nice clock, has two porcelain dials, top one is an open escapement clock, the bottom a calendar with revolving moon, bell rings the hour, & once on the half hour, the clock is running, I've had it running for about 4 hours, keeping good time, but I cannot get the calendar part to change, when I took the mechanism out, I could change it by moving the lever at the top, when in the clock, the lever is moved by a wheel at the bottom of the clock, may just need some adjustment, the dials are mounted in the case by two screws through two differnt sets of glass doors, on front & rear, & they may not be lined up correvtly, I can find no maker name on the clock or the movement, may be a french clock, not sure of when it's from, but my guess would be mid-century. the bevelled glass door on the front of the clock has some damage to the hinge, the door does close & again, I'm sure it's a fairly easy fix if you have the know how, & t are two stress type splits in the case between the faces, the clock measures 18" tall, over 12" wide, and about 5 1/2" deep at widest section, besides the two small mentioned cracks, the case is in excellent shape, as are the porcelain dials & the glass doors, comes with pendulum & key, a beautiful clock that I'm starting at a very inexpensive opening bid with no reserve, will ship priority mail in the U.S. or overseas, & insurance is required, buyer pays all shipping charges including the cost of packaging materials, clock weighs 14 pounds without packaging |
