Nicer beautiful older violin with wooden case and bow Description:Nicer older full size violin in a very nice wooden case. Violin is in wonderful used condition. I have no idea how old this instrument is. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have to the best of my ability, and I can easily send you full size high resolution pictures of any and all details you need. Finish is not perfect, but it is very nice and will look great with a good cleaning and polishing. There are some minor nicks and scratches, but a beautiful instrument as it sits. This instrument has no damages or repairs. Some one has added the four fine tuners as I'm just sure this instrument never came with fine tuners. Tuners do not have locks. I put the strings and bridge on my self just for the photos (but they are Brand New and will be just fine for a student). Instrument will sound just fine when properly tuned and adjusted. I played violin in shool, and all though not a concert musician, I know this is an excellent instrument for both an accomplished musician or an advanced student looking for a nicer instrument to move up to the next level with. This would be an instrument for a high school/college student that has a few years experience. No reason not to get this for a less skilled musician as the better the quality of instrument the easier it is to learn on. Older, better constructed instruments such as this are easier to tune and stay in tune longer and better. Thus a student spends more time playing and less time waiting for an instructor to tune their instrument. Not to mention they just sound better in good hands. Included with the violin is a bow that is much newer than the violin. No mother of pearl inserts. This would be a good bow if restrung, but no trophey. Bow is marked GLASSER and is completely full of hair, just not fresh. Bow has excellent tension and very little wear. Probably replaced a broken bow and never got used much as it doesn't have much rosin on it, might play just fine with some rosin. Case has a partial paper label marked G.S.B. with pen and ink written words and "$75.00 and 1872" on it. The chin rest is marked on bottom "Patented MAR. 7, 1893". Case is missing one of the bow holders, I belive something could easily be fashioned to replace it as this is really a nice case. Case is clean and in good working order. There is a key included that fits in the lock, but does not operate it. The hand forged hooks are the originals and are in good shape as are the hinges. Case overall has little wear. I have not cleaned, repaired, restored or altered this violin in anyway, other than putting the strings and bridge on. Very nice original condition instrument ready for you to tune, start playing, and enjoying.
