Reminiscent of his mother's collection of Irish and Scottish spongeware, Nicholas Mosse began making sponge decorated pottery in 1975 in the old family mill on River Nore in Bennettsbridge , Ireland . The pottery is hand thrown and hand decorated with each design element being applied separately. Careful throwing gives the stoneware a substantial but light feel and adds to its universal appeal. · The "Winter Wreath" pattern features green intertwined fir, holly, ivy and red berries comprising an impressionistic holiday wreath on an off-white background, accented with a warm tan contrasting band at the rim and base · Approximate dimensions of the bowl are 10-13/16" across the top, 3-3/16" high and 6-5/8" at the base · Each piece is handmade and varies slightly; the piece pictured is the exact piece you are bidding on · Excellent pre-owned condition: no crazing, scratches, chips, or cracks · This pattern is retired but also complements current Nicholas Mosse holiday offerings · Made in County Kilkenny , Ireland Payment method: PayPal preferred. Checks and money orders accepted; item will ship after payment clears. Regardless of method, payment required within three days of sale. Shipping costs: Priority mail rates based on shipping weight of approximately 2 lbs. Return policy: I want you to be happy. Returns cheerfully accepted
