Nicholas Van Geelkercken 1610 ORBIS TERRARUM DESCRIPTO DUOBIS PLANIS HEMISPHAERIIS (The World, the Earth, Two Hemipsheres) This BUY IT NOW OR MAKE YOUR BEST OFFER Item is a very rare and exquisite old world Map by the little reconized but very renouned engravor and draftsman Nichols Van Geelkercken in or about 1610 ( there is lots of debate about th exact date the original draft was created). The Map is beautifully detailed and painted on Polished aluminum attached to a superior white oak border and farme with cartographic detailing of Splibergen' s passage around the strait of Magella. The Detail of this peice simply cannot be brought to its true beauty by pictures ( its doen's help that I am a terrible photographer). The map was created by Masketeer Inc. in Bilington W. Virginia. map, including frame measures 23 1/2" x 31" and weights 12 lbs. It is in near Mint condition with no scratches, brakes or cracks.
