A Superb Studio Pottery Vase made by Nick Hillyard , who has been a Potter in Devon for over twenty five years. The vase measures approximately three and three quarter inches in height and is two and a quarter inches approx. in diameter at the top. It has a wonderfully vibrant design and is made with red clay. The base has the word Axminster impressed and the initials NH. The vase is in excellent condition and is finished with a gloss glaze.Artist: Nick Hillyard About the artist: " Nick has been a potter for 25 years, along with teaching pottery in local colleges. His designs are beautiful and highly intricate, influenced by oriental and European folk pottery. The decoration is hand carved Sgraffito slipware, achieved without stencils or patterns.
