I cannot find this exact piece of Nicodemus pottery pictured in Stanford's Guide to Nicodemus by Jim Riebel. It is a covered bowl or covered candy dish. It has concentric rings at the shoulder of the base piece and concentric rings around the knob of the lid. It is a blue green or aqua color, highlighted with a rust brown to make a striking contrast. It is made of red clay and has the arched Nicodemus block mark impressed on the base.
It is approximately 7" in diameter and 3 3/4" high with the lid in place. It is perfect as the day it was made. On the underside of the lid are the rest marks (while in the kiln) with no glaze on those four points. See Photo below. No chips, dings, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Please email any questions and I will answer as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking!! Thank you for looking!!! Shipping is determined by weight of the package and delivery zip code. Georgia residents please add 7% sales tax. Payment is due within 10 days. I accept money orders and ship right away or checks and ship after the check clears your bank. |
