This is an ebony billy club or night stick. It is approximately 15 inches long and just slightly over 1 ¼ inches in diameter. It has a couple of scratches on the circumference and a tiny chip on the handle end that is hardly noticeable. It has three very tiny checks in the wood grain. It's a really nice piece of wood...very smooth to the touch. It has two holes drilled in it for a leather strap, one on the handle end and another 3 ½ inches down from there drilled 90 degrees relative to the first hole. This is the kind of night stick that the cops of old used to twirl on a leather lanyard. I could never understand exactly what they were doing, but it looked really cool. (Google 'how to twirl a nightstick' for some neat you tube videos). Check out the photos for more information. If you need more photos or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
