Up on the auction black is a fine sword, with NBTHK papers. The signature on the nakago reads Kunimitsu . The paper authenticates this...
It is difficult to judge whether it was one of the sons of the Kunimitsu (he had 3 sons who signed simply "Kunimitsu", or someone else of the same lineage. - Era: Koto Other details: - Nagasa is 64.85 (length from tip to tip: 84cm. Mekugiana: 2; Sori: 1.5cm - Hada depending of the section of the blade fluctuates between muji and masame. Kissaki is "chû and boshi is midare-komi. Hamon is 'sugu'. - No cracks, kizu, chips or rust on the blade. Sharpness is very good. Mountings: Comes in a black-lacquered shirasaya. Urushi on both the saya and the tsuka in very good condition (not cracked, peeling and no blisters). We feel that the mountings are not terribly old, maybe late 19th or early 20th cent. Shipping will be via EMS. To the US/Can/ Aust./N.W.: $65. Europe: $72 If clients have special requests re. shipping, like via FedEx or UPS, we can arrange that, though the cost will be substancially more. It goes without saying that the swords we sell ar not modern-day copies, or reproductions...
