This is a Nikon model S professional lab type microscope. It came from a tool and die quality control department. Overall condition of the scope is very good with no known problems. I bought this to educate and entertain my children and grandchildren and it was never used without my supervision. It isn't used anymore so it is time to pass it on to someone else for their enjoyment or professional use. Hopefully the pictures will explain everything since I am woefully inadequate concerning the technical details. The scope has a 4-place objective lens turret and the four eyepieces are marked as follows: 1) Nikon 79607 40X 0.65 0.17; 2) Unitron 71938 20X N.A. 0.45; 3) Nikon 75177 10X 0.25; 4) Nikon 81527 4X 0.1. It has two eyepieces, either of which is placed in the inclined monocular eyepiece holder, depending on the magnification you desire. The eyepieces are marked HK5X AND HKW10X. The 10X has a crosshair reticule. It is my understanding that magnification is determined by multiplying objective lens power by the eyepiece power. For example, the 40X objective used with the 10X eyepiece would yield 400X magnification. As seen in the pictures, it has an external substage light source,an adjustable mechanical slide holder stage, and separate slide clamps if you prefer this method instead of the mechanical stage.
