Hi and welcome to the beginning of the end of my camera collection. I sold off many of my babies 7 years ago, when retiring from 32 years of Photography teaching and moving out of NY to NC, keeping the last few hundred until now. After enjoying them for 5 decades of collecting and using and lately behind glass display shelf sitting, it is time for them to go to new homes and start a new life. This auction is for a really nice Nikon SP, that breaks my heart to part with. If you are looking at this ad, you already know the qualities of this camera, so I will limit this to a description of its appearance and functioning. If you are looking for a Mint, "as new" camera, this is not that one. However, it is very close. I have had it for decades, and never used it. I did give the shutter regular exercise which has helped it keep those really nice, accurate sounding shutter speeds. The finders are beautiful and show the view for various lenses, quite well. The focusing spot is accurate, alligned correctly and easy to see. The leather is beautiful and intact. The chrome has the very lightest of marks, even the base plate seems in better shape than any of my other Nikon RF's. The 5 CM f1.4 Nippon Kogaku Japan, in black, would be the correct match for this body. It has beautiful glass and a filter has always been over the lens, for as long as I have had it. The diaphragm is symmetrical, The camera focus smoothly and the cloth shutter curtains look as they should. The camera comes with a camera case, made for it by Nikon and this case shows wear and is partially separated front from reatr where it bends around the camera. It is still usable with an intact strap but no one would really expect to use that, to support the camera. The camera has the modern lens strap loops, with the plastic protectors on it, so that you could put a strap on it and not scratch her. There is a very mild mark on the side of one of the strap lugs, where an old fashoned strap left its imprint. The camera comes with the relatively rare original shade and cap. The cap says patent pending and the shade has the E.P. markings. There is also a Nikon meter, which gears onto the shutter speed dial and slides into the hot shoe. The meter does NOT react to light and the door, on the meter's front, that allows for low light reading, is very slightly bent. This meter also comes with the original instruction sheet, the incident reading attachment and the case, all quite difficult to find. I will miss her dearly, as will my S, S2 and S3 2000 and my Nicca's. Important note. If you are bidding from outside of the USA, I can only ship through eBay shipping.
