Offered for auction sale is a wonderfully styled, shaped, and decorated, large hand-turned vase, Arts and Crafts Mission style , made by Niloak pottery , ca. 1920. This tall vase has a very attractive appearance with a continuous marbelized and swirled design with lots of blues, browns, reds, grays, and white. The outside has a soft matte glaze, while hand-turned ridges can be seen and felt on the glossy interior glaze. Its simple shape and color pattern give this vase a distinct Arts & Crafts era appearance. This vase is 9 1/8" tall, has a 3 1/4" base diameter, flares slightly outward and then in to form an inwardly rolled top rim with a 3" diameter opening. The swirled pattern is seen on the underside, and also continues onto the inwardly rolled rim and partly down into the interior. This vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The inside is very clean and appears to have never been used. The underside is die-incised with an old "NILOAK" mark.
