CONDITION ALMOST PERFECT! What a wonderful vase! I see no missing Coralene, no hairlines, cracks, nicks, flakes, crazing!!! The gold is in perfect condition, both top and bottom, with the tiniest bit of thinning at the rim. The gold has been applied with a steady hand. I see only two firing marks from the factory, a bit of soil around the shoulders and some dark spots in the white porcelain that are evident in the outturn of the mouth of the vase, which may be soil or may be in the porcelain. This vase is more beautiful than I was able to capture in the photographs. The vivid pink at the top shows well; however it totally overshadows the exquisite but very delicate green ground of most of the vase. I could not get that color to show well at all--it shows as cream--which keeps the forget-me-nots from showing to full advantage and makes the dramatic leaves a bit too strong. I hope that you have the imagination to add that very pale lime sherbet color so that you will get the full impact of the glorious vase, because I have taken photos for several days and just could not get it right! The vase itself has been done very artistically and with care as to balance, and the photos do not show this because of the lack of color balance. While I am a fairly long-time member of INCC, I have never been to a meeting and I am not an expert in Nippon, just an enthusiast. If you see something in my photos that I don't, please call it to my attention so that I may give a more complete description to my prospective buyers. Thank you for viewing my auction.
