This vase has no amber in it, unlike the photographs which make it seem so. This vase is the lightest weight Nippon I have seen. As you go down, it is in shades of lavendar, purple, greens, some yellows and pale blue. It is beautiful in its simplicity and is one of my favorites. I purchased it in spite of some flaws, which I will delineate to you. It has developed no new ones since I have owned it. The front is fine. Turning to the left of the front, t is a very long hairline which does go through. I have photographed that from both inside and outside. T is a very faint one, about 1 1/4" next to it which will not photograph. The hairlines have not changed in the ten or more years that I have owned this vase. In the back design, the middle of the tree is completely bare of Coralene. At the throat of the vase, t are the beginnings of two very faint hairlines which do not go anyw and are noticeable only if you pick up the vase and look inside. I see no other Coralene missing. No dots are missing. The gold has been applied with a seady hand. As you can tell, I do not hesitate to purchase a vase if I like it, even if it has defects, as long as it has a beautiful face. I can see only one side of it at the time! While I am a fairly long-time member of INCC, I have never been to a meeting and I am not an expert in Nippon, just an enthusiast.
