This vase is a combination of the tasteful colors and shadings for which the Nippon era is so well known. It's not possible for this nonwriter to describe well. I hope that the photographs will show you that the nondecorated sides are not boring because they have been colored, ever so subtly, in a spot of fuschia muting into dark green then into lighter green and into the lighter amber and into the darker amber at the top. The Coralene has been done very artistically on this piece, and well because t remains 99.9% Again t is some gold loss at the upper rim because of my penchant for having the pieces dusted; however, the Coralene is bright and glowing because of it. T are some black speckles on the upper surface which were t when I received the piece, but they are not serious and do not detract, especially because they are not in the plane with the design. The bottom rim is recessed about 1/4" from the piece which both gives the piece more interest and makes it impossible to tell that the artist who applied the gold band did not have the steadiest hand. If you turn the vase upside down, holding it in your hand, you will see that one tiny place w t is neither green nor gold, probably occasioned by the gold artist having gone "outside the line," removing it, and forgetting to have the porcelain painter redo his portion. But you would have to have the vase completely upside down to see this. However, I do tell you everything I see about every piece I sell. I see nothing on this vase that you cannot see in the photographs, just the factory marks such as the glaze pops and a dimple. T are no hairlines, nicks, chips, flakes. T are a few tiny rubs along the base line w you can tell that it has touched other pieces in its hundred-year-long life, but nothing that I can feel with my fingertip or nail. While I am a fairly long-time member of INCC, I have never been to a meeting and I am not an expert in Nippon, just an enthusiast. If you see something in my photos that I don't, please call it to my attention so that I may give a more complete description to my prospective buyers. Thank you for viewing my auction. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to see more views. I'll be happy to send them to you just for the asking. I will ship to most locations and will happily combine shipping if it is possible without incurring damage. I do not gouge on shipping and I love to save my buyers $$$! Please contact me for specifics. I am primarily a buyer myself and all my items are coming from my own collections. I want to make your eBay experience with me a great one.
