Album Hi. The starting price isn't indicative of the worth, just a price I start decent items for.
What you are looking at is the finest porcelain money can buy; at any price.
In the first picture you see a white line on the front of the saucer.
That isn't wear but the overhead light shining Through the cup Onto the saucer.
I had a hard time photographing this set due to its extreme translucence.
I had to dim the lights or it would look "washed out" and faded because the porcelain is so thin, light passes through it.
In the third picture you are looking INTO the inside of the cup.
Note how you can easily see Through it and see the painted roses on the other side.
Only the finest, most delicate porcelain will allow that to happen.
Even a step further, although the outside is completely painted, looking into the inside you can Still see light pass from the light behind it into the inside.
Fantastic.
If you display this with the handle to the right and the saucer turned one way, the pink roses match.
Turned the opposite way red roses line up.
Not only terrific artistry but artistry with a purpose of "two" sides.
