I recently purchased a collection of beautiful handpainted Nippon vases from an estate auction, and will be listing them over the next week or so. If you are a collector of these wonderful pieces of art, please look out for my other listings as I am glad to combine shipping whenever possible! This two-handled vase has a design of gorgeous yellow poppies with gold beading and gold enameled details on a background of matte light blue. The light blue is covered with branches in darker shades of blue which give perspective as the poppies dance in front of them. T is a simple gold border around the top and bottom of the vase which matches the two gold handles. The vase measures about 11 1/2" tall and about 6" across at its widest point. It bears the green Noritake/ Morimura mark which Van Patten calls #47. I rotated the vase while photographing it so you could see it from all sides. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage to the porcelain, and no evidence of any repairs. T is one spot on the back of the vase a couple of millimeters wide which is shown in the sixth photo; to be honest, I am not sure what exactly it is, it looks like it may be candle wax or glue that was dripped on it accidentally and hardened, but I could not get it off easily so I did not try any further.
