Wow! You are bidding on an extremely hard to find piece of Nippon. It is the moon flask vase. Standing on a rectangular base, narrowing upward to a large round middle section, narrowing back to the neck region and then flares out at the top. Has two open handles. A very intricate pattern having pinkish mauve flowers with hand painted highlights upon them. Various shades of greenery in the background for leaves. The major side has four rather large blue daisy like flowers with gold moriage borders, gold beads internally and white moriage beads accenting the flowers as well. In this major side is also some ruby red leaf representation with gold bead and moriage highlights. A lot of heavy raised gold scroll in the forms of stems and highlights in and around the forementioned. T are four cobalt areas toward the rim with heavy gold painting upon it. Around the very perimeter of the round side is a single row of gold beads. The minor side is similar, however does not have the ruby red leaf work mentioneded. Both on the neck and base area is a gold medallion type of figure. The top one has more of the white moriage beads present. The two handles have cobalt blue, gold scroll and an area of a beautiful lighter blue. The necks rim also has this lighter blue. The base around the lower rectangular area has large single gold circles. This piece is pretty good sized. It measures in at not quite 9 inches tall by about 6 inches at the widest. It is about 1 1/2 inches thick. This piece is unmarked, however t is some small amount of old sticker residue on the underside. It is in beautiful condition. Must have been stored in a display cabinet and never used. I cannot detect any chips, cracks or repairs....for that matter the gold in in near mint condition. I have quite a bit invested in this jewel, yet I believe offered at a fair reserve bid. This opening bid does not reflect upon the quality of this piece. It is very nice.
