Nippon Moriage Swan, Cattails, LotusNoritake Blue Maple Leaf Mark Offering an exquisite antique Nippon Moriage hand painted pitcher with elaborate slipwork decorating. The bottom is stamped with a blue maple leaf which is an early (1891-1921) Noritake mark. The scene is of a beautiful white swan swimming in a pond full of cattails and lotus plants. Colors include a rich range of greens with peach and purple accents. The cattails and some of the lotus plants are raised and t are fine lines of intricate slip decorating. The pitcher measures approximately 8" high and the base is 6" in diameter. Condition is wonderful! T is some very minor loss of the slipwork decorating (see photos). No chips or cracks but the bottom of the pitcher has fine lines as shown in the photo. The lines can not be felt when you run your finger across them and they do not go through to the inside. This unique piece is in very good condition. Insurance is required on this item. Most of my items are collectibles or antiques from estate sales and auctions. They are used items.
