Nippon White Enamel Monk Portrait Wine Jug **Very Rare*

Up for auction is this very rare white enamel portrait monk wine jug. The white enamel portraits, as well as this jug, are featured in almost every JVP book and any serious Nippon collector would recognize it. This jug features a monk reading the newspaper. The moriage decor consists of hundreds of tiny pale blue, pale pink and pale yellow beads. The handle and stopper feature pink petaled flowers. A string of dark green moriage is used to outline on various areas of the jug. T are no cracks, chips, hairlines or repairs on this jug. The wine jug is 9 1/2" high. T are several mini beads missing, but you have to look hard because t are hundreds of them. The only fairly significant piece of missing moriage is the upper petal on the flower that adorns the handle. T are a few factory flaws as follows: T are two pin prick dimples, one on the right front side and one on the back. T are three freckles on the lower back. T is a pin sized hole on the underside of the handle, but could not have been done post firing. It appears the greenware was accidentally stabbed with a cleaning tool????? The cork has a small chunk taken out of the end. This jug is marked with the blue maple leaf mark. I will refund your money if this item is grossly misrepresented and is returned in the same condition it was sent. The buyer will pay return shipping and insurance. This is the second Nippon monk jug I have listed on ebay with no reserve and as with the first one, I have decided to offer this to everyone, but I also have local offers and reserve the right to end this auction at anytime if I choose to sell it locally.
