Rare, large 19th C Meissen smiling face, Chinese buddha form nodder with moving hands and weighted nodding head with wagging tongue, finely detailed face showing teeth, large ears. Hand painted hair, eyebrows and eyes, with yellow and white robe with pink edging and multicolored floral decoration, blue shoes and gilt ruffled collar. Head and body marked with blue crossed swords, #44 in blue on inside of body, incised on bottom #2883 and #94 and #44 in blue, excellent condition. From a Damariscotta, Maine home.
