For Sale: World War II era Bombsight and Stabilizer Bombsight manufactured by Carl L. Norden Inc. Type: M-9 Serial number: R-561 Order No. 42-8807 Stabilizer manufactured by Honeywell Reg. Co in Minneapolis MN. Type: G-1048-A-300 Series C1 Autopilot Here is a great opportunity to acquire two very important items from the WWII. Used in various U.S. bombers such as the B-17, B-24, and B-29, the Norden bombsight was instrumental in the systematic destruction of the Nazi war machine and helped deliver the final blow to the Japanese to end the war. The items you are bidding on come to me from an inheritance. I believe the items to be non-operational but as you can see are in excellent static condition except for some missing paint chips on the bombsight. The bombsight is mounted on a wooden stand and is stored in its original box. Really exciting is the original Record Book (with matching serial number) still with the sight which includes notes from the CO of Bombsight Maintenance. The Auto pilot is mounted on a metal stand. I do not the original shipping container for it. These items have been stored for many years. The original boxes and mounts have a smell of an old musty barn. That being said, there is no corrosion on either item. You are bidding on both items. All items are sold in “as is” condition. As I stated earlier, I believe the items to be non operational. All sales are final and no returns will be accepted. Shipping will be paid for by the winning bidder and may be substantial. Be aware the Bombsight weighs approximately 50lbs. The autopilot about 30lbs. UPS shipping cost varies with your location. I will box and crate in two pieces. …
