Nording Freehand with 360 degree Flame, Nice Pipe!

This is a nice example of a Nording freehand, with excellent flame grain and NO fills, deep gray swirly Lucite stem and no faults. It is an "F" grade and the finish is very smooth, and the top and shank end have dark plateau. Bowl size is medium (1 ¼") as it's not too deep a piece of briar, and draw hole is bottom center. Pipe is pretty long at 7". Stem has just slight tooth impressions. Overall pipe is super clean and very attractive. It's fully refurbished and ready to smoke!

When he was born and growing up in Copenhagen, few would have expected Erik Nording to become one of the most prolific and best known pipe makers in the world. He studied engineering and seemed destined to take over his father's shop, specializing in custom made knives. During the last 40 years Erik Nørding has built up his business, which today produces approximately 50,000 pipes a year, 90% of which are for the export market. Always a bit of a non-conformist, Erik specializes in freehands, preferring to let the wood decide for itself what shape it should take rather than forcing it to the classical shapes.
