You are bidding on a slightly used, most not at all, 53-piece set of NORITAKE WILLOWBROOK BONE CHINA, pattern #9722. The "Willowbrook" pattern by Noritake ws produced from 1979 until it was discontinued in 1987. The base color is ivory with a floral and scroll pattern in light pink, blue and green, trimmed with gold. A little history: My mother had always wanted fine china but she and dad couldn't afford that sort of luxury for many, many years. When she was in her 50's, she fell in love with this pattern and started hinting to dad that this china would make great birthday and Christmas gifts....very easy for him to find exactly what she wanted. So, for several years, mom received this china from my dad. Even though it rarely was used (and only a few pieces at that), my mother felt proud to finally have something "elegant". I now have this in my possession and am looking for a very good home for this special set of china. This is a perfect gift for someone who is just starting to collect fine dinnerware! Included in the set:8 Dinner Plates - 10 1/2"8 Salad Plates - 8 3/8"8 Bread & Butter Plates - 6 1/2"8 Fruit Bowls - 6 1/8"8 Cups - 3" tall8 Saucers - 6"1 Oval Serving Platter - 14 1/2"1 Oval Vegetable Bowl - 10 1/2"1 Gravy Boat w/Underplate (Butter/Relish) - Boat 6" long 2 1/2" deep, Plate 8"1 Creamer - 3" tall1 Sugar Bowl w.Lid - 3 1/8"This set is in pristine condition (no chips, cracks or flaws). Upon close review, the only piece that showed any use was the Oval Serving Platter, which showed very slight markings - more than likely from a serving utensil. Most pieces are still in their original wrapping. This set, if purchased through china replacement services, would cost over $1,500.
