Norma DeCamp Antique Coverlet 17” Standing Santa ***************************************** German Paper Mache Boots & Handmade Toy Dog with Clown Rider Yep, this is another toy of my sons design He recently sent me the item all cut and ready to paint and put together. I just love this one. The toy is wood and the rider has a clay molded head He has a leather gathered hat and is jointed. The dog and base are also wood and jointed. Santa is dressed in a lovely piece from an Antique Coverlet from I am sure, the late 1800’s (No I did not cut it up. It came to me as a pillow and what a gorgeous blue. Made in Vermont or at least from a home in Vermont ) Santa has an underskirt and sleeves from a lovely cream colored ancient material that is from the same home. He has a fur collar and a wool beard And you can almost see him wink. Must love his job. His head is molded from Clay, and hand painted. His head, and arms are fully jointed for posing. His body is wood and his boots are German Paper Mache. He stands on a wooden stand that is signed and dated and a card with my credits will be enclosed. Somehow the camera seems to often make items look stumpy, he is not, he is really a lovely Santa. Much prettier than the photos. The little wood toy on the base is vintage.
