Norman Rockwell's - Spirit of Scouting Silver Medals 12 Sterling Silver Medals - 39mm diameter - each weighs .79 oz This is a set of twelve uncirculated proof medals framed in a commemorative box. Box cover reads: "Norman Rockwell's Spirit of Scouting Sterling . Official Medals of the Boy Scouts of America . Minted by the Franklin Mint. Limited Edition/Proof Quality/Sterling Silver." This is the much sought after "Spirit of Scouting" series. Sculpted by Richard Baldwin using Norman Rockwell's artistic translation of the 12 Boy Scout Laws. This set is the first series of art medals ever created by Norman Rockwell. They are also the first series of medals to be declared Official Medals of the Boy Scouts of America . The Franklin Mint was authorized to handle the subscription processing, minting and distribution of these medals. Obverse shows Rockwell's depiction of Scout Law while reverse recants that Law. Each Proof medal is encased in a 2 part Lucite holder and inserted into a Gold lettered frame suitable for hanging which slips into a brown sleeve which also has gold lettering on the front and spine. ***Please be sure to check out my other coin listings.
