Welcome to our auction. We will be auctioning many items from our personal and family collection. These are items that have been accumulated over the last 150 years and it is now time to purge............you are in luck!!!We do our very best to describe each item in detail with any flaws, dents, etc., that the item may have. However, remember these are used and old and are as is: Up for auction are 3 original brochures, all published by the Northern Pacific Railway. Two of them deal exclusively with Yellowstone National Park. These early pieces date from 1914 and the 1920s. We are auctioning all three together -- this is a great opportunity to add to your parks or railroad memorabilia. Each of these is in original, used condition, and will be a great addition to any Railroad or National Parks collection. The first and oldest of the Yellowstone brochures dates to 1914 and depicts the wonders of Yellowstone Park in 40 pages of black and white text and photographs. The cover pictures are in color. Transportation within the park at that time was by horse-drawn stages and steam launches, but the physical features of the park remain the same today as do some of the buildings and monuments. This brochure measures 9 x 10-1/2 inches and aside from a little dirt and edge wear on the cover is in fine condition. The second of the Yellowstone brochures is believed to date from 1921 as t is a partial date found on the map of the railway at the end of the booklet. It describes the park on 72 pages of text with many photographs both black and white and colored by hand. Transportation within the park was by stagecoach as shown in several photos. Many of the buildings will seem familiar to recent visitors to the park. This brochure measures 7-1/2 by 10 inches and aside from a little dirt and edge wear on the dark cover, it is in fine condition. The third Northern Pacific Railway brochure is entitled "Over the Scenic Highway" and is a point by point travel log of the railway from St. Paul, Minnesota, to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. It covers the historic, scenic, physical, and railroad features of the journey in 72 pages of text and black and white photographs. The cover is a color painting which, when fully open, depicts a Native American sitting by his tepee and fire, watching a train in the distant foothills of a snow-capped mountain. This brochure measures 6 x 8-3/4 inches and is in good condition. The cover has become separated from the body of the work and shows wear around its edges.
