This 20"x19" print (framed it is 25"x25") was originally purchased by me 5 years ago at the renown Quintana Gallery in Portland, OR. I am a avid collector of NW First Nations art and woodcarve in this style myself. Recently, I relocated to Albuquerque and have decided to part with this Salmon print as it doesn't mesh with my new place's motives and design.According to the Quintana Gallery website, this print is sold out. I purchased mine (22 out of 200) for $100 for the print ONLY. The condition of the frame and glass is excellent.Tom is the son of ditary Chief George Hunt and Mary Hunt and is a member of the Kwakiutl Nation who was born in Victoria in 1964. Tom began apprenticing in Kwakiutl art with his father at the age of twelve and later worked with his brother George Hunt Jr. When entering his teenage years, Tom spent several summers in Campbell River working with his maternal grandfather, the late Sam Henderson. During that stage of his development of Kwakiutl art style, Tom learned the artistic style of the 'Nakwaxda'xw Nation (Blunden Harbour). With the family tied in Campbell River and Fort Rupert, Tom's strength is the knowledge of the Kwakiutl history which he shares through the art works he creates.
