Welcome to my auction! I was lucky enough to purchase a private collection of Carnival Glass. I have 150 items I will be listing in the next few weeks. This auction is for a Blue Carnival Glass Plate. This is the "Three Fruits" pattern made by the Northwood Glass Company in the early 1900's. It is unmarked. You can reference this pattern in the Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass, 9th Edition on page 251. Wow! This has color! It measures 9" in diameter and 2 little lines over 1 3/4" tall. The center starts with bright turquoise and magenta iridescence, and it continues out to the edge, which is just nothing but electric. Bright teal, purple, turquoise, yellow, the colors are amazing. The stippled background makes an excellent contrast. The exterior is a ribbed pattern. The front has lines around the edge, like it had straw on the plate and they sprayed the chemicals over it. T is the customary wear on the fruit. The back has some thin tool marks and a concentration of chemicals around the base. It looks like an oil slick t, like the chemicals concentrated in that one area. It's even on the edge of the base a bit. T are a few short lines of missing iridescence on the back. That's it! N o chips, cracks or repairs. All pictures were taken outside in natural lighting without a flash or enhancement of any kind. Check out my read more
