WELCOME TO MY AUCTION and THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY! MY AUCTIONS ALWAYS KICK OFF WITH VERY LOW STARTING PRICES AND NO RESERVES!!! SO ENJOY and I HOPE YOU RETURN AGAIN SOMETIME! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood BLOSSOMTIME Compote in SCARCE, Rich GREEN Base Glass. Green is listed as the scarcest color for these in my reference books and this one is a dandy, hard to imagine a better one. It is 6 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/4 inches tall. The piece displays exceptionally HOT Multi-color iridescence inside and outside! Just a super, super example of this intricate and regal pattern. Vivid, BOLD colors at every turn of the piece in natural light...a very sweet presentation. A super nice piece of old Northwood! Makes a spectacular display piece...awesome visual appeal! Way better than your average color on green! Visually stunning and its in great condition too. Take a look at the photos and see for yourself, they show it well. The piece carries the authentic Northwood mark in the bottom. It is a fantastic example of this beautiful old pattern, SCARCE base glass color and shape! Its an elegant piece of glass, definitely First Class. If you have been looking to add on of these fine pieces to your collection...you'll want to give serious consideration to this one. LOOKING FOR A COLOR UPGRADE? This one may suit your needs. Its a solid investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth...no artificial light is EVER used! I never enhance photos, if you like the colors you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: (Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This piece is in SUPER nice condition ! No cracks, chips or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. T are a few scattered, manufacturing stretch marks visible on the piece, confined to the exterior, very faint...n othing u ncommon in old glass. T are a few very small manufacturing enclosed air bubbles, common in old glass and nothing uncommon The Base is in excellent shape...shows some extremely light shelf wear on the very bottom, nothing uncommon. The mold seams are barely t to the touch. Sits flat, level and solid. Overall excellent! The Edge Treatment on the piece is superbly done, superior uniformity, teeth are perfectly shaped and evenly done. Super shape. Loads of flashy eye appeal! Simply gorgeous! The Interior ...it is very super! Great color, I can make out NO wear at all. Exceptional to say the least. It appears to have been used for nothing but display throughout its long life. T he Exterior shows off a wonderful mold strike, great detail...very sharp. Strong iridescent colors...its very pretty! I can make out minimul tiny pin-head sized flecks of loss of iridescence (is what I call it) on the very outside edge of a few points. Simply put it is the very slightest wear and excessively minor. Common in 100 year old pieces of glass and nothing uncommon Overall the exterior is gorgeous and in great shape! T hat is all I can find on this outstanding piece of Northwood! It is an extremely showy, high quality example! TOP SHELF, TOP QUALITY ..it is Striking! These compotes are not often seen in green and this one is a great one. It would make a wonderful addition to any quality collection. I 've looked it over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so ...
