WELCOME CARNIVAL GLASS COLLECTORS! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood WISHBONE Collar Based Bowl - 10 inches wide and 2 7/8 inches tall with the basket weave back in gorgeous PURPLE base glass with awesome MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE! The iridescent colors are rich and vivid on this one. It is fantastic on display. It is an old vintage piece and carries the authentic Northwood Mark on the base. This bowl is a really nice example of this pattern and this color. A solid investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the bowl so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All pictures were taken outside in natural light...no flash. I never enhance photos, what you see is what you get. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe the buyers should set the value, so bid with confindence and have fun...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This bowl is in very nice condition ! No cracks or repairs. No major distractions whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks, n othing u ncommon. You must be looking close to find them. T are some scattered enclosed manufacturing bubbles, very small, common and nothing unusual. The base exhibits some manufacturing roughness...just not a clean mold all the way around. Not that uncommon. T is one small, shallow chip on the base...I have it pictured for you. It about 3/8 of an inch long and very shallow. T are two very tiny pin-head sized fleabites on the collar base also. Very tiny. T is a slight manufacturing warp in the base, barely noticeable...and the bowl sits flat and solid...but I am mentioning it. T is a few tool marks w it is crimped...very slight. T is little wear if any at all to the interior of the bowl or the exterior. Just a few tiny flecks of loss of iridescence. Very tiny and nothing uncommon...just slight wear. The saw tooth edge has a 5 pulled points that lean. One of the teeth has a sliver off of its side, very shallow and slight...you'll feel it before you see it. T are two pin-head sized or smaller fleabites on the very edge of the rim as well. You'll likely need a magnifying glass to see them. That is all I can find on this gorgeous bowl. I've looked it all over hard. I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is a nice investment quality piece of glass. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. And as all of us in Carnival know color is key and this bowl displays wonderful multi-color! Its a fine example of what Carnival Glass is all about. It is a very clean example.
