WELCOME TO MY AUCTION and THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY! MY AUCTIONS ALWAYS KICK OFF WITH VERY LOW STARTING PRICES AND NO RESERVES!!! SO ENJOY and I HOPE YOU RETURN AGAIN SOMETIME! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood ~ GOOD LUCK ~ PLATE ~ in gorgeous GREEN Base Glass. It is 9 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches tall. As opposed to Good Luck Bowls that are common, plates in this pattern are much harder to find and green ones are one of the more scarce colors. This plate is a beautiful example with vibrant splashes of predominantly blue and red iridescence all throughout the face of the plate. A wonderfull multi-iridescent piece of glass, simply lovely. This beautiful plate in stunning in natural light...a very pleasing piece to exhibit and view on display. Not your everyday color for green. A very sharp piece of old Northwood! The piece does carry the Northwood mark on the back. It is an awesome example of this excellent old pattern, base glass color and shape! If you have been looking to add one of these very fine pieces to your collection or you're looking for a color upgrade...you'll want to give serious consideration to this one. Its a great investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth...no artificial light is EVER used! I never enhance photos, if you like the colors you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: (Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This piece is in good condition ! No cracks or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. T are a few scattered, faint manufacturing stretch marks visible on each piece...n othing u ncommon in old glass. T are a few very teeny manufacturing enclosed air bubbles, common in old glass and nothing uncommon The Base is in stellar shape...no wear at all. The mold seam can be felt, but is smooth. Sits flat, level and solid. Overall fine, fine shape! The Edge Treatment on the piece is superbly done, two of the teeth are not quite as high as the others, it was made this way as they are iridized over. One tooth does have a shallow, flat chip off of the end of one tooth (see close up). You can see it is very small, the tooth is still intact. A very minor flaw on a piece this nice and this scarce. Only visible upon close inspection as the pictures show. Overall the edge has super visual appeal! The Interior ...of the piece is in super condition...just a few teeny pin-head sized flecks of loss of iridescence (is what I call it) can be found. Extremely tiny and Simply put...it is just the slightest wear...common in 100 year old pieces of glass and nothing uncommon Extremely minor...just look at the close ups for yourself. The Exterior is in spectacular condition...I can't make out any wear. This piece is very nice all the way around. T hat is all I can find on this outstanding Northwood Plate! It is a quality piece of glass! Just look over the pictures...they represent it well! Loads of color, super overall condition and a scarce plate to find. It is very, very pretty! It would make a w onderful addition to any quality collection. I 've looked it over hard...I'm being very picky with my Condition Description. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is a beautiful, investment quality piece of glass...it really puts on a shimmering show in natural light! A pleasure to view on...
