Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood GRAPE AND CABLE Footed Plate with the MEANDER Pattern on the exterior in Marigold base glass! It is 9 1/4 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Very flat for one of these. The iridescence qualities of this piece are excellent! BEAUTIFUL MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE WITH HOT PINKS, BLUES AND GREENS MIXED IN and AROUND THE PATTERN...VERY SHARP! IT IS A VISUALLY PLEASING PIECE...take a look at the pictures and see for yourself! SWEET! Its is a wonderful example of this shape and color in this very collectable and elegant pattern. One of Northwoods best. It is an old vintage piece, does not carry the Northwood mark, but 1/2 of all Northwood pieces did not. It is authentic Northwood, I guarantee it. What a beauty...it is an excellent investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks super on display...not your everyday look ..it a wonderful investment quality piece. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth. No artificial light of any kind is ever used. If you like the color you see, that is what you will get...I never enhance photos. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe that auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW, LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This Plate is in wonderful condition ! No chips, cracks or repairs. T are a few visible, scattered manufacturing stretch marks, n othing u ncommon. T are some very tiny enclosed manufacturing bubbles, very small in size. Again...nothing uncommon at all. The Base and Feet ...are in beautiful shape. The feet have very slight shelf wear on the bottom. Nothing uncommon. They are in exceptional shape...hard to find these without damage to the feet. These are in awesome shape...even the mold seems are nearly smooth. Sits Flat. Overall the base is in fantastic shape. The Exterior Pattern ...gorgeous....great mold strike. Very pretty- awesome. I can't make out any wear. Excellent. The Rim and Edge Treatment is nice and even all the way around. Super nice visual effect. Awesome. The Interior or Face is awesome with fantastic color! T are a couple of tiny, miniscule scratches or flecks of loss of iridescence is what I call them. (Largest is pictured for you) Simply put it is just very slight wear...very, very minor...nothing uncommon. Overall the Face is in Outstanding shape! That is all I can find on this striking Plate. It is a top quality example of this pattern, shape and color with very fine iridescence. It is showy in natural light! I've looked it all over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Its even much better in person!!! I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. And as all of us in Carnival know color is key and the color on this plate is very nice. I t is a pleasure to look at! You will have a very hard time ever finding a nicer one if you drove the tires off of your car. It is an excellent example of what Carnival Glass is all about. Please look over all the pictures.
