Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood GRAPE AND CABLE Master Collar Based Bowl in GREEN Base Glass! IT IS A LARGE AND HEAVY PIECE OF GLASS AND ITS A BEAUTY! It is 9 1/4 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches tall. Super MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE INSIDE AND OUT ON TH IS ONE! Sharp and flat gorgeous...looks great on display. VERY SWEET!!! It is an outstanding example of this great old pattern, shape and color. Green is not easy to come by either...much tougher than Marigold and Purple. It is an old vintage piece, does carry the Northwood mark on the bottom. This one lights up in natural light...an outstanding piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth. No artificial light of any kind is ever used. If you like the color you see, that is what you will get...I never enhance photos. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe that auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW, LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This bowl is in fabulous condition ! No cracks or repairs. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks visible, n othing u ncommon. T are some very small enclosed manufacturing bubbles, very small in size. Nothing uncommon at all. The Base ...its in superb condition...very little if any shelf wear can be seen at all. The mold seams can barely be felt and they are smooth. The piece sits FLAT and solid. Overall super nice. The Exterior ...simply gorgeous iridescence. Excellent pattern mold. Extremely pretty. I can't make out any wear on the raised surfaces or anything...exceptional and extremely nice! Overall the exterior is FANTASTIC in every way! The Rim and Edge Treatment The edge is even and nice all the way around, saw teeth are even, creating a splendid and visually pleasing look. The only issue on the entire bowl is found on one side of a saw tooth. It has a very shallow flake or sliver off of one. I pictured it for you twice. Once from an angle w it is easier to see it and once from straight on so you can see it is very hard to detect unless you are looking for it. Very, very easily missed and nearly impossible to see on display. Thats it. In my opinion...minor on a piece with this kind of color and overall condition. Overall the edge is super nice. The Interior is in gorgeous shape and displays super, super color! Just look at the pictures...WOW! I can't make out any wear at all....no scratches or marks. The only thing I can see to mention is a manufacturing tool mark on the bottom about the size of the end of a pen. A very minor divot. That is it! Honestly the piece looks as though it has only been used for display throughout its long life. Hard to find pieces this pretty in this overall condition...its a super nice piece! Very pretty! I 've looked it all over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Its much better in person, sweet! I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. This piece is a beauty.
