Up for auction today is a vintage Carnival Glass Banana Boat/Centerpiece Bowl in the Grape & Cable pattern. It is amethyst in color. It measures roughly 13" in length and 8 ¾" across its widest point. Overall condition of the Bowl, I would consider fairly good. There are typical straw marks in the glass, one larger one on the underside. The inside of the Bowl has a mark or two as shown in photos and a small chip on the top edge. The condition of the piece is reflected in the low starting bid as I’ve seen these sales for $300 - $600. Vintage carnival glass normally has straw marks, press lines, tool marks, folds, oil spots, flecks of what appears to be dirt, heat cracks, all which are considered factory flaws , with true carnival glass these should be expected. The photos are taken inside and outside, with and without a flash, no photos have been altered or enhanced in any way.
