Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood GREEK KEY Ruffled, Collar Based Bowl - BASKETWEAVE EXTERIOR - in GREEN Base Glass. ITS A FLAT GORGEOUS PIECE! It is 8 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. STRONG, Rich Multi-color Iridescence on this one. Vibrant and Stunning in natural light as the photos show. A very showy bowl! I think the pictures speak for themselves...it is an awesome piece...super, super visual effects. Please look over the photos and see for yourself. It is an outstanding example of this great old pattern, color and shape. A great investment quality piece of vintage Carnival Glass. It is an old vintage piece, carries the Northwood mark - sharply seen on the back. This bowl is simply beautiful.. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth. No artificial light of any kind is ever used. If you like the color you see, that is what you will get...I never enhance photos. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe that auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW, LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This bowl is in fabulous condition ! No cracks, chips or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks visible, n othing u ncommon. T is a manufacturing straw mark near the center of the bowl...it is not easy to see...completely swallowed by pattern. Nothing uncommon and very minor. T are tiny, small enclosed manufacturing bubbles scattered throughout the bowl, very small in size. The Base ...its in superb condition...very little if any shelf wear can be seen at all. The mold seams can barely be felt and they are smooth. The piece sits FLAT and solid. Overall superb. The Exterior ...displays excellent mold...very crisp. Lightly iridized...very pretty. I can't make out any wear...unusual and very nice! Overall the exterior is excellent! The Rim and Edge Treatment The edge is even and nice all the way around, creating a splendid and satisfying look. Saw Teeth are well done and even all the way around. Outstanding. Overall the edge is super nice. The Interior or Face is in gorgeous shape. T are some teeny pin-head sized flecks of loss of iridescence present on a few of the high points of the ruffles. Nothing uncommon and very minor on a piece of this quality. Simply it is the very slightest wear and only visible upon very close inspection. Nothing uncommon at all on a 100 year old bowl. T is also one very small, shallow flake right on the edge. Pictured for you. Its like a vegetable peeler tiny nip, so shallow, can only be seen upon very, very close inspection and only if the light is right. Extremely minor. Honestly the bowl looks as though it has only been used for display throughout its long life. Hard to find interiors this pretty in this condition on any piece of vintage carnival...its a very, very nice! I 've looked it all over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Its even much better in person, the iridescent color is simply gorgeous! I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting.
