Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood THREE FRUITS Collar Base Plate with the Basket Weave Back in Marigold Base Glass. The piece is 9 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall. The piece exhibits very pretty MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE with lots of blue, green and pink highlights. This is a really pretty piece in natural light! Please look over the photos and see for yourself. The plate does not carry the Northwood mark, but approximately 1/2 of all Northwood pieces didn't. It IS authentic Northwood I guarantee it. This plate on display...VERY colorful...a delight to look at. Its a solid investment quality piece of glass. If you are looking to add one of these to your collection or upgrade, this one has excellent above average iridescence...it would be a great piece to pick up. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. They look even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth...no artificial light is EVER used! I never enhance photos, if you like the colors you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This plate is in very nice condition ! No cracks, chips or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks visible, n othing u ncommon. T are a few very tiny enclosed manufacturing bubbles as well. Again...nothing uncommon at all. The Base is in great shape. I can't make out any wear on the bottom...very nice. The manufacturing mold seams are barely t to the touch...also very nice. The plate sits very flat, but will rock slightly if manipulated. Very minor. Overall I rate the base as VERY NICE. The Rim and Edge on the piece is in very good condition. Saw tooth edge is even all the way around...very well done. Great visual effect. Overall Super nice. The Interior ...Its awesome. Great iridescence...visually very pleasing. Exhibits slight wear on the raised fruits in some spots...most of these do. You must be looking very close to see anything. Overall the interior or face of the plate is Outstanding! The Exterior exhibits a crisp mold strike and beautiful colors! Overall the exterior is GORGEOUS and it is in supremely nice condition. That is all I can find on this splendid plate...its a pure beauty! The piece looks like it has been well cared for throughout its long life. I've looked it over over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is a beautiful, investment quality piece of glass...an elegant, pleasing example in this ever popular pattern. Bright and Vibrant on display. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I try to be very thorough with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. The piece is an outstanding example of what Vintage Carnival Glass is all about. The pictures show it well, please have a look.
