Beautifully carved, extremely rare and inscribed with the initials CHE on a corner of the base, this wood carving of a woman carrying a red umbrella is from Norway but is not by Henning. Written on the base in pencil is 22.50 which I suspect may represent its original price. She measures about 5.75" tall including her base which measures 2.5" wide by 2.25" deep.
This flat plane carving has rich color and is in very good vintage condition. I see no breaks or repairs. Collectors of carving artisans from Sweden and Norway like Trygg, Gunnarsson, Larssen, Henning as well as CHE may find this piece of interest.
