This is a beautiful old hand painted and carved Norwegian tine. It was purchased at auction in Switzerland and brought to USA. I do not have a date for the box but it appears to use hand cut staples to hold the sides together. The fingers on each end have a brass tack at the bottom. The top fits well to the bottom. T are no cracks. One side of the tine does show some wearing to the finish (see photo). It measures 10 inchs long, 4 1/2 wide and 5 inches tall (to top of handle).
