I will add a complete description soon. I will ship this brand new and unused set of 1/4" drive old USA made John Deere sockets that is in a nice plastic box and has been obsolete for many years anywhere in the world and I will accept any form of payment for it. This is just one of the four sets of fine quality older USA made John Deere tools I am now selling here on eBay so please check out the set of 14 exceptionally nice used John Deere SAE combination wrenches in the original roll pouch and the other two sets of brand new NOS (new old stock) 1/2" drive and 3/8" drive John Deere sockets that I am offering here as well. I bought the three socket sets from the local John Deere dealer in the late 1980's or so when they were becoming obsolete and replaced with the John Deere tools from Taiwan. I started collecting a lot of the International and John Deere tools about the time that they were obsoleted and searched the dealers inventory all over the USA and Canada to find what I was looking for. I recently sold all of my IH tools to a friend in Iowa who collects them. My interests have shifted a bit so I am now offering these very collectible John Deere tools to the world here on eBay. This is a great John Deere SAE 1/4" drive socket set in brand new condition that has never been used. This very nice socket set includes 9 of the 1/4 " drive sockets ranging from 3/16" to 1/2". The ratchet, 2" extension and the 6" extension that were part of this set are included. This set is complete and is missing nothing and needs nothing except a new home. The black plastic box is in pristine condition with no damage at all. The third photo of this listing shows a close up of the separate black and gold plated plastic medallion that is glued onto the top of the cover. There appears to be a bit of excess glue above and below the medallion and it was made that way and has not been re-glued by me. I suspect a person could take a bit of solvent to carefully remove the excess glue but I will leave that task to the new owner. This set has never been out on display but has been stored in the bottom drawer of a tool box that I never use in here in my shop. It is in just as nice of condition now as it was the day that I brought it home from the JD dealer. I have been told that these fine tools were made by the Bonney Tool Company and that is why they have the rounded corners in the 12 point hex just like the "Flank Drive" that the Snap-On wrenches and sockets have. I do like this feature because I believe it is easier on the hexes of the fasteners on the collectible cars, trucks and tractors that I work on. There is not much more that I need to say except that if you collect the finest of the John Deere tools and want a somewhat unique brand new socket set in the brand new original box, then perhaps you should give some very serious thought to bidding on this scarce old set of brand new John Deere sockets. This tool set comes from my smoke free and pet free shop. These choice sockets and accessories have not been used, buffed, polished or "messed with" at all since they were made. I thought I would never sell this very hard to find socket set but I found a great deal on a very valuable early farm tractor that I can not pass up so some of my other treasures are going away to pay for that next treasure that is more important to me. I will very carefully pack these tools in a very sturdy box because I really appreciate such a fine set and do no want to see it damaged in shipment.
