Novelty Cutlery-Cut Throat Straight Razor*SHAVE READY* The Straight Razor Guy This is a terrific and highly collectible straight razor manufactured by the Novelty Cutlery Co., in Canton, Ohio in 1879. If you have a copy of the third edition of 'The Standard Guide To Razors' 'Identifications and Values', take a look at page #150 w you will see this razor valued conservativley at $165. Better yet, the razor in the book has pictures of craft tools and the one offered is adorned with racey pictures of nudes of the period! This is a very well made straight razor and a great example of the better razors available in the late 19th Century. Item condition specifics : Blade -The blade is 5/8th inches wide. It has a clean finish with no rust, oxidation, nicks, pits or cracks. It has a spike point and is made if high carbon steel. Hone wear is minimal and the blade should last for years and years even with daily use if you decide to shave with it. The tang is nicely jimped/fluted for a nice feel and look.
