Hello Ebayers,THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! I'm going to let the collectors decide what this is worth. It's a road bike, it's a mountain bike, it's a hybrid. WHAT IS IT!?! "Rock Combo"
Turn lots of heads with this super rare, 1989, 21-speed Specialized "Rock Combo" Cyclocross/Mountain/Road Bike!!!! Frame is a 23" and is intended for a taller rider(5'11"-6'5"). The geometry has a 72 degree head angle making it a little quicker in the front end like a road bike especially w/ the wide Specialized BB-1 drop bars. This vintage bicycle has almost all original parts w/ some upgrades (New seat, tires, bar tape). Please google this bike to find out how rare and awesome it is. The Rock Combo seems to be Specialized's early attempt at a 80's hybrid, and it really makes me wish this vision had won out over the 700c, flat-barred path bikes we got instead. The bike is basically a Rockhopper/Stumpjumper frame (triple-butted steel) with a steeper head angle (72 degrees), more BB drop (45), and the funky BB-1 flared drop bars. Components are mostly original MTB stuff: SunTour (XCD-6000) hubs, Aero brake levers, and shifters (7-speed); Dia-Compe brakes; nice Specialized double-wall rims; Sugino crank.
Only 500 ever made before they cut production!!! Price when new:$700-$800.

Make note of feedback. Thanx, Jay I just wanted to mention that the bike is not "show room". It does have some touch-up spots where there was chips or scrapes in the paint. This was done to prevent rusting to the frame. The colors are pretty close to match. Also, the rear rim was upgraded to a SUN "Chinook" Hard ano. Bike would probably benefit from a tune-up. Otherwise THIS BIKE ROCKS!!!!!! Good luck PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER NO RESERVE AUCTION FOR A 1995, KONA "KILAUEA" MOUNTAIN BIKE!!!!
