you have a stupendous, huge, heavy, and drop-dead gorgeous vintage opal and diamond cocktail ring -- NOT for the fainthearted! This knockout ring is 50 to 60 years old. It is solid 14K yellow gold (marked), with white gold used for the diamond mountings. The ring weighs an incredible 11.9 grams of gold and feels fantastic on the hand! This ring features a beautiful Australian solid white opal, NOT a doublet or triplet and FAR better than my photos show! Opals are notorious for looking washed out in photographs. Since I always guarantee my descriptions, allow me to describe it for you! This oval opal measures about 11mm by 13mm. I am unsure of its weight, but it is certainly over a carat. It has no damage of any kind -- no cracks, chips, or crazing. The color play is fabulous! Looking straight at the ring, you will see mostly green pinpoint fire with a large violet/periwinkle blue section to one side. As you move your hand in the light, pink and orange fire plays across the surface of this stone and you can see the pink glow on the underside of the opal through the raised prongs! The opal is surrounded by twelve sparkling white diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.60ct. These are in the I-J-K color range, and eyeclean SI2-I1 clarity (inclusions seen with a loupe). They make a dazzling effect around the center stone! The face of this huge cocktail ring measures 1" by 3/4", and it rises to 3/8" above the finger -- a real attention-getter! Currently a size 8.5, it may be resized by an experienced jeweler but is not made for a tiny hand. The ring is in fantastic condition all around, and has been worn gently, probably only on special occasions. This 10-day auction has NO RESERVE , so bid to win this dazzling ring! The ring will come in a gift box and be shipped to its new owner as soon as payment is received. Please Note! The U.S. postal service has not only increased rates, but also restructured its services. I have changed my listings to calculated shipping costs in order to avoid errors in the changeover. Check the shipping calculator below this listing. Please be patient as USPS, eBay, and sellers work out any bugs! This package will be shipped by Priority Mail. Insurance is mandatory and will be calculated at the end of the auction. I do not charge a handling fee. Express Mail, FedEx or UPS are available upon request. I prefer Paypal for immediate shipping, and also accept money orders and personal checks, which may or may not be held for clearance. I will contact the winning bidder as soon as the auction ends. Reply must be made within three days, and payment received within ten days of the end of the auction. International bidders please read carefully! You must use Paypal or a PINK postal money order from Canada or Japan, in U.S. dollars. Select either International Priority Mail or International Express Mail -- see the shipping calculator below. Cost varies by your location. USPS regulations do not allow jewelry to be insured. E-mail me if you are interested in registered airmail, which is tracked closely but can take two weeks or more. (I will always discuss shipping options with serious international bidders by e-mail. It is impossible to show all the options by country on the eBay listing.) Or, you may choose FedEx or UPS at cost (roughly $65). Full value will be declared. Please note, I am NOT responsible for any problems with Customs or delivery, which could take up to one month! It is up to YOU to know the Customs and postal laws of your country -- do not bid on prohibited items! If you do, and the item is confiscated, I can't help you. I combine shipping, so please check my other auctions for more gorgeous vintage jewelry this week. ! Questions? E-mail me before the end of the auction. Please note, any stray colors are just a reflection from the camera or surroundings. Note, 1 inch = 25.4mm. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! On May-09-07 at 13:39:44 PDT, seller added...
