ORIGINAL ART BY BILL HOLMAN AS HE SENT IT TO THE SYNDICATE FOR PUBLICATION HOLMAN ALSO CREATED SMOKEY STOVER, SPOOKY THE CAT COP GAG Most artists are challenged by the requirements of a single strip every day. Bill Holman was the exception. He not only did Smokey Stover, he also did Nuts and Jolts as well as another daily based on Spooky the Cat. The guy was amazing and his batting averge was pretty high. Even when the gag may have sounded a little shopworn, t is his highly individualistic style to admire. The strip offered today is from Holman's one panel daily, Nuts and Jolts. It holds a great joke about Cops. The strip is the exact art as submitted to the Syndicate by Bill Holman. The caption has been typed on the bottom and over the caption, the Syndicate did a new label for easy printing. Holman's signature is in the right corner. The art measures 12' by 9". It is on standard art board. You can see small, light pencil lines w Holman considered other artistic possibilities. Holman always managed to sneak Spooky the Cat into Nuts and Jolts. See if you can find him. The art is dated 05-22-68. Art will be flat shipped via ground UPS with delivery confirmation, unless you request otherwise. All art ships insured through UPS.
