Hello friends, This knife is a Davis Brothers hand forged, traditional, craft made woodcarving knife. Made right here on the Northwest coast of Washington. It is a large, long bladed, bent version of our traditional NW Coast style crook knife. The blade has an in-swept curve on one side to produce a deep scorp like cut with a pulling stroke ,(in this case for a right hander to pull to the left), and is out-swept on the other side for the pushing or pulling stroke of the deep bend crook knife in the other direction. The in-swept side excels at stock removal, and can be used for creation of inside curves, while the out-swept side excels at final shaving of inside curves, and lowering to ground, but will also do stock removal. Edge bevels have been kept to the topside of the blade for the most aggressive cutting action. We have made the handle big enough to use a second hand in support, but in general this knife is fine in single hand use.
