A beautiful , large, stable, unclassified meteorite from Northwest Africa!!! This specimen displays in many different positions and has some great and varied features. Beautiful thumbprints cover three sides of the specimen. A testament to it's fiery entry into Earth's atmosphere. Most of the stone is covered in thick brown fusion crust, while some areas have crust that appears relatively fresh. Half of the stone is quite angular in appearance and as stated sits flat for display. Also an area that shows the results of being windblown by the Sahara. This sandblasted area is about 110 X 65 mm across and it is from this area that I cut a "window" into the meteorite to get an idea of what the inside looks like. The resulting end piece weighs 84 grams and will be included with the stone. The "window" is somewhat triangular shaped and measures 85 X 50 mm. A great addition to any collection. This specimen appears to me to be be an L4 or L5. Total weight is 3,370 grams. I will pay for shipping in the US and split the shipping with anyone outside of the US. I am member # 9020 of the IMCA and guarantee that this stone is a genuine meteorite or you're money will be cheerfully refunded.
