Mitchell and Ness Joe DiMaggio authentic replica 1939 Yankees jersey. The Yankees won their 4th consecutive World Series in 1939, beating the Red Sox for the pennant and then the Cincinnati Reds in the series. This is the year Lou Gehrig retired, and the year DiMaggio received his "Yankee Clipper" nickname. This Jersey was never worn, new with Cooperstown Collection tag, no flaws noted (did not fit). Mitchell & Ness creates replica jerseys with great attention to detail. The texture of the wool and the style and size of the patches are replicated beautifully. This is the classic Yankees home jersey, with navy pinstripes on cream in a 65% Acrylic/ 35% wool blend. The NY logo is stitched on the front, on the arm is the 1839-1939 Baseball Centennial embroidered patch worn that year only. On the front bottom is embroidered "1939", and the Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection embroidered tag. On the back is stitched Joltin' Joe's retired #5 in wool. Size XL, measures 26" across the chest under the armpits, 33" long from the collar to the hem. These usually retail for $250.00.
